10 Choices You Will Regret in 10 Years
We constantly develop and change. We learn new things and we apply those things to ourselves. We learn and change until the day we day. However, some changes are not so pleasant and smooth. Some of us will certainly regret some things from their past. In this article, we share the 10 most common regrets after ten years. Your choices determine your future- this article proves that!
1.Letting someone else create your dreams for you.
This is a painful topic for many. We all know that the greatest challenge in life, probably, is to find the purpose in our lives. However, many people try to manipulate us and use us for their own good, or put us into their own ‘concept’ of success and happiness without even thinking about yourself. That’s why you may regret if you were fulfilling dreams that are not yours at all.
2.Wearing a mask to impress others
Sometimes you will be just broken inside because of wasting opportunities to show your true self to the people that meant something at a certain point. Wearing masks is a common decision that may be turned into a big regret. Some people just love wearing masks and using them to profit in all fields of life, but some others, the ones who are emotional and deep, won’t ever forgive themselves for faking.
3. Being selfish and egotistical
This also is a common regret. People often change their views about the material world and egoism. Some huge traumas in life may completely change our egoistic profile. Even pompous people become ‘lambs’. This could also happen to you, so always try to be as generous as possible, both emotionally and materially.
4.Keeping negative company.
The bad attitude of certain bad people may negatively influence your own behavior, views, and even whole personality. This is one of the most common regrets. People at a certain point in their lives realize how much time and energy they’ve spent on totally unimportant people. That’s why you need to always give your best efforts to establish and nurture strong and stable relationships.
5. Avoiding change and growth.
You will certainly regret if you make this decision. You may subconsciously grow and develop in a person on a higher level of existence and thinking, but you will regret for avoiding that process consciously. Why? Because the time spent being the ‘same old’ was precious, but you didn’t see that back at the time. You will imagine how many things you could have done.
6.Trying to micromanage every little thing.
People are obsessed with details and the concept of ‘perfection’. Perfection is certainly just a concept and you must never bother with that. You should invest yourself in the things you do, be serious, dedicated and determined, but sometimes you will lose yourself trying to micromanage everything. You may regret that sooner or later. Your worries and stress ‘immunity’ wasted for some unimportant little things would be necessary later in your life for serious issues.
7. Giving up when the going gets tough.
This is also one of the most common regrets. You need to show character and strength when it’s hardest not when it’s easy. You will realize/already realized this at some point in your life, but your display of weakness in the past when it was most important to stay strong, will become your big regret.
8. Settling for less than you deserve.
Be strong enough to let go and wise enough to wait for what you deserve. Sometimes you have to get knocked down lower than you have ever been to stand up taller than you ever were before. Sometimes your eyes need to be washed by your tears so you can see the possibilities in front of you with a clearer vision again. Don’t settle.
9.Being lazy and wishy-washy.
Daydreaming is good and a great motivator, but sometimes we spend so much time in daydreaming while we forget to focus on the real things in life and make our dreams come true. Laziness and not taking initiative for building your own success will also become a huge regret one day. That’s why you should always, at least, give a try and escape from your comfort zone.
10. Endlessly waiting until tomorrow
Your life is here and now! Planning is good, but sometimes we use our plans only as an excuse to delay the things we’re obligated to finish. There is no place for pity excuses and weakness if you want to be proud of yourself in future. If you want not to regret your ‘delaying’ decisions, you need act fast and remain self-confident no matter what.
