Exploring Beyond The Boundaries Of The Ego – Astral Projection

You must have heard of the OBE (out-of-body experience) phenomenon. Though it might be hard to believe that we can leave and return to our bodies randomly, the idea is actually not as far-fetched as you think.

Out of body experiences or astral projections are not as uncommon as you might think. In fact, everyone of us is capable of doing this. Our soul or consciousness can easily leave our body and roam around, visit whichever place or person it wants to while our physical body remains at rest.

If you are wondering whether it has ever happened to you or not- then it might have happened as recently as last night. When you jerk your body awake during sleep- it is because your active subconscious is getting back to your physical body.

This phenomenon is actually not that hard to understand if you look at it through the perspective of the interpretation of dreams, and the knowledge of the subconscious mind. The reason why you remember some dreams whereas you forget about most others is because these are your astral body encounters.

This is not the same case as a near death experience. When you die, your soul or subconscious leaves your body permanently. If somehow you are saved physically, then it returns if it is not already too late.

Astral projections however, are not that drastic. Think of it as your subconsciousness taking a stroll, because it was too bored to be kept sitting at the same place. For the soul the physical boundaries are practically non-existent and so it roams around wherever it wants.

The reason why we can’t recall these wanderings is because our Ego cannot be bothered to register it.

Astral projections can be achieved if you are free from distractions and can disentangle your mind from your body. Certain drugs such as LSDs can help achieve that state.

However one needs to be in control or your subconscious won’t be able to go beyond the lower astral level and you end up having a bad trip.
